Introduction

                         The word “Sahara” comes from the Arabic language, which means “desert”. The plural form of the word, Sahara,(deserts). The Sahara desert is Located in northern African continent.

                         The word “Desert” comes from the Middle English word meaning “barren” or “dried up”. It also comes from the Old French word des(s)ert, which means “without inhabitants”

                         The Sahara desert covers large parts of these countries Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Western Sahara and Sudan, Eritrea and parts of southern Morocco and Tunisia.

                           The Sahara desert is the world’s largest hot desert in the world. This desert covering 31% of the African continent and 8% of the Earth’s surface land area. It’s bordered by north side the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlas Mountains, the Sahel region to the south, the Red Sea to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The Sahara desert covering around 3,500,000 square miles (9,065,000 square kilometers). The world’s most famous ancient monument, the Giza Pyramids, also comes from the Sahara Desert region.
